PLEASE ADVISE!

Hi,

I have just bought a canon 28-135mm IS.
The front of the lens seems to have a lot of play in it and I am wondering if this is normal???

Before I send it back - does anyone have this lens???

There is about 2-3mm of movement. Other than that it seems fine.

I don't have this lens, but in general modern AF lenses can seem loose compared to the traditional metal lenses of the manual focus era.

However, how loose is loose is another matter. I would suggest you go and examine one of these at a dealers, or compare with a friend who does own the lens. Perhaps the local Photo Society can help.

You really need to check another lens and then you will know for sure.
