Pentax SMC 67 90-180mm f/5.6 user reviews

Experience of this type of product: Good,
Time product owned: More than a year, Price paid: $1200.
Like the 55-100 zoom this lens is one of Pentax's most recent designs. Its performance is reflected in that fact. It is most likely a 2 zoom group type like the 55-100. I have never seen a cross section for the 90-180 but it does have 10 elements, none of which are cemented. It has a really useful f/45 stop which makes it great for landscapes and macro work. Although not quite as sharp as the 55-100, it still competes favorably with the primes. Both zoom are great for travel even though they are both heavy. No DOF scale is on the 90-180, so one has to add hyperfocal marks for landscape work. Focal ratios remain constant when zooming, which is a nice feature. One of my favorite lenses.
