Soft wide open. Sold it and now use a Carl Zeiss Distagon 35mm F/2.8 : tack sharp and great stauration

Very nice lens, very sharp, without CA or flare etc. I use it on a Canon EOS 30D. Equivalent to about 56mm on a Canon DSLR, so I would prefer a little wider. The 28mm f2.8 is exactly what I regard as normal, but this 35mm has better optical quality and is worthwhile having. Recommended.
