Nice range on film cameras. Made reasonably well, perhaps the zooming action could use a little more friction as it tends to need constant atention to maintain a set focal length. Usual high quality Canon AF. Mine isn't the sharpest lens by any means though. Even f8 on a tripod is quite disappointing (even for a £250 lens). On the other hand it makes a decent portrait lens. Digital use brings out reasonably pronounced fringing. Contrast is generally pretty good and there isn't excessive flare.
