This lens is really great! Sharp at every aperture, GREAT bokeh!! Very good with TC 17, so so with TC 20E.

I have been using this lens for about 5 months. I use it for shooting scenics, animals, and people. It is very sharp and contrasty. I use it most of the time hand held, thanks to the Nikon's excellent VR. There is no noticeable loss of sharpness using a 1.4x teleconverter, but you start to see a bit of loss of sharpness with the 1.7x.
All in all, one of the best and sharpest lenses that Nikon makes. This lens is well worth the price!

Everything in the Photodo review about the optical quality of this lens is true.Guys, if you wanna really find its limits, shoot with it on a Velvia. You wont have any further questions.The only weak thing about it is flare. Otherwise, an optical masterpiece!
