Tokina AT-X AF 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8 Pro II Reviews

An excellent all-round lens. My current sample is my second of the same version (I damaged the first one on a hike in Ireland). This lens is very good value for money. The equivalent Pentax lens (FA* 2.8/28-70mm)is slightly better (according to tests), but costs many times the price of this Tokina AT-X lens. I have sold many photographs done with this lens. Highly recommended.

Purchased used for $300, but returned shortly thereafter. Excellent build quality, nice and heavy lens. My copy suffers from poor contrast - if I'm shooting indoors and there's a lot of light coming in through the window (e.g. sunlight reflected off snow) the light "spills over" and reduces contrast on the subject. Problem occurs even at f/8. The basic Nikon 18-55 lens doesn't suffer from this problem.
