Tokina AF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 Reviews

I bought this lens when it came out after a rave review in Practical Photography magazine. I have used it extensively for weddings and some press work, mostly on an EOS 5 film camera but recently on a Canon D60 which gives a crop factor of 1.6 with the lens which then becomes a 45-150.
Most will not like the AF motor which makes a noisy grating sound, not ideal for candids or quiet situations. However, I use mine in manual focus mainly because I was having misfocus problems where the lens would focus slightly behond the subject. This happens on both film and digital bodies. Optically though it is a very impressiv lens. Happy with results on the D60. Controls flare very well and resolutions is fine. Build quality is excellent being all metal construct.

Vignetting is a problem with this lens, better use no filter or only a very thin one. Otherwise I have nothing against it.
