Tamron AF 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Di ll LD MACRO Reviews

This is a real gem, and the perfect companion for the kitlens that may have come with your DSLR.
The build quality is suprisingly good, feeling quite robust and the zoom ring and manual focus ring have a nice smooth motion.
Focus wise, this lens isn't the fastest, but take into account that it is a telephoto, which generally take longer, aswell as being capable of close up work. Once it has lock in Ai Servo, it keeps it quite well.
Optically, this lens is quite sharp, and reasonably usable wide open at below 135mm, softening slightly at 200mm, but much better stopped down. Easilly as sharp as the kitlens, if not sharper at 55mm f4.
Ofcourse, the strongest thing in favour of this lens is the price! For £85 you get a good lens, a nice lens hood, and a warranty. Definetly worth it.
