Not a bad portrait lens. Since it's manual focus, and the aperture is quite large, you get quite nice out of focus bokeh. Focussing is a bit tough to nail wide open, but precise if you take your time.

Contrast is lower than modern lenses, as would be expected. However, on the right camera and with some control of light, this small, light and fast (aperture) lens is great for long-distance candids (e.g. Unobtrusive shooting at a wedding reception). I use mine with a Nikon 1 V1 and FT-1 adapter to get an effective 350mm f2.5 lens. Since this lens is very sharp in the centre, resolution isn't a problem.

For the price I paid used, it's a real steal!
