A very good lens specially for portraits. I made a lot of photographies for example children in the street in Uzbekistan. Focus 105 is great for portrait. Only a problem with hood : made in plastic, painting disapear, black plastic appears.

Useful range even on a D-SLR (43-160) and brighter than many other lens in this category (f/3.2-4.5). Optically very good for a 4x zoom. Very compact, light weight and flexible. Highly recommended.

Overall, a very good lens optically, particularly given its low cost and small size/weight. The first example was decentered upon arrival, showing excellent sharpness in the center and right thirds but consistently poor sharpness on the left third. Adorama quickly replaced this decentered lens and the new one shows very good sharpness throughout the frame on a Pentax K10d. Contrast and resistance to flare seems decent as well.

This is a very good lens, wide enough for landscape and I get close enough for street photography without being noticed. It is compact, light and quiet when focussing.
I use it with my K100D Super DSLR and the results are stunning. I have the all black version - a perfect match for my camera.
For a while I had the Sigma 70-300 APO but though it was another excellent lens had to replace it with this one as it was way too big for my taste.
With the 28-105mm f/3.2-4.5 there is no fall off in quality, it is as good at 105mm as it is at 28mm.
