Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED Reviews

I just bought this lens and compared it extensively with my Sigma 10-20mm and a friend's Tokina 11-16. In general, it roughly equals the Sigma in center sharpness but betters it in the corners, and its not quite as sharp in the center as the Tokina but has way better CA - and of course, a much wider focal range. I kept the Nikkor and sold the Sigma for one reason, it's great with my infrared-converted D80. Both the Sigma and Tokina are awful for IR work. I've heard the 10-24 is about the same in sharpness as the 12-24 but haven't tested it myself. The build is lighter but it looks sturdy enough to me for most pro work. The shade is big and clunky, but unlike the Sigma, the cap fits better with the shade on. Bonus feature, it's good on FX from 18-24mm. The big negative is the price. If you get a deal, go for it. Otherwise, if you don't do IR work, I'd recommend the Sigma or Tokina.
