Incredibly sharp, edge to edge. Still wonderfully sharp with TC 14E II teleconverter. I own the AFS I version of the lens itself. This version very solid, built like a tank. A true professioanl quality optic. You can tell Nikon designed it as their flagship lens. Thoroughly satisfied.
