Nikon 24mm f/2.8 Reviews

A great lens -- nice and contrasty and sharp (though less sharp at the edges). Consider the Tamron 24mm f2.5 lens as a less-costly and optically better (in my opinion) alternative.

A great lens, like the 28mm f2.8 ( 20cm focus)

Excellent lens. Owned the Nikkor-N version previously, which also was a great lens. Traded my Nikkor-N version in on my current AIS lens. Only negative: focusing ring throw is too short.

I've owned these lenses almost since I bought my Nikon Fm2. I prefer wide angle primes and this is probably my most used lenses. I have used it in many different light situations and it has behaved fairly well.
It does have a tendency to flare and sometimes you can spot some CA like here.
The build quality is excellent and it has already withstood severe falls without a scratch. With regards to design, a longer focus ring thread would be nice.
I don't spot corner softness very often except in extreme low light situations (at night) with f/2.8. The perspective distortion is not very noticeable.
