Minolta AF 28-70mm f/2.8 G Reviews

My 28-75D is collecting dust since I bought this lens. Its heavy and slow focusing but image quality is great! Build quality is excellent and will last for decades. Compared to equivalent CaNikon lenses it gets better reviews. Screw drive means focus speed depends to a large extent on the camera its mounted on. Focuses faster on maxxum 7 (and hopefully maxxum 9) than on a 7D or 5D.
The only other lens that comes close in terms of color, sharpness, and bokeh is 28-135 f/4-4.5 but my 28-70s f/2.8 wins, as well as non rotating front element, internal focus, and internal zoom. Build quality is much better than 28-135 lens. Flare can be a bit of a problem (but not as serious as that on 28-135) but a good hood solves most issues.
Expensive, yes. Buy it only if you want the best!
