Leica Elmarit-R 28mm f/2.8 Reviews

One of the best 28mm ever produced in 135 format. Very high contrast and extremely flare resistance are its fingerprints. As the manual says, this little lens has much improved close-up performance than its predecessor due to the use of floating element. From my experience, later version (E55) has at least 2 stop advance over 1st version (E48). The only thing I'd complain would be the relatively short focus throw compared to the E48 version. Other than that, it's an excellent lens for landscape.

A stunning lens, easy to use and a joy to handle. Most of my work is photographing Engineering Models, and this lens excells in the 3 to 10 ft range. I take it with me everywhere.
