First commercial APO lens made by Leitz Canada. It was almost the sharpest 180mm lens in 70's, and surpassed by only few lenses today. It produces high contrast/resolution images. The color tone is very smooth and CA is strickly controlled all at wide open. Its bokeh don't look creamy, but like crystal round-shape rings. At this point, there is something in common with Kinoptik 100/2. This lengedary lens was initially designed for US Navy under military contract. Its optical formula was optimized at infinity, so the minimum focus was down to 2.5m which is not very useful for close ups. However, I still got very good result with 2X apo extender or extension tubes. New lens, like 180/2.8 APO or 180 summicron, is still better in every aspect, but they are much more expensive.
