Contax G Planar 35mm f/2 Reviews

It is the excellent lens of outstanding Carl Zeiss quality. I completely desagree with anybody, who says that it is a weakest spot in the Contax G system lenses. Those people can only complain by using it at f2 aperture. If using it wide open, yes, I agree, wide open this lens is not sharp enough, but stopped down just to f2.8 the image quality is very good, and stopped to f4 and up to f8, the image quality becomes outstanding, the same magic as for other Contax G system lenses. If there is a weak spot in the line of Contax G lenses, it could be only Zeiss 35-70mm zoom, which is not sharp enough compared to Contax G 35mm/2 and 45mm/2 prime lenses (of cause, the slow 35-70 zoom does not even have f2 aperture). The Carl Zeiss 35/2 Planar is just another jewel in the line of Contax G lenses.
