Contax G Biogon 28mm f/2.8 Reviews

This is the sharpest wide angle lens for 35 mm photography I own, stopped down to f8 the image quality is equal to 50mm normal Nikon lenses. Compared to the sharpest Nikon wide angle lens AIS 28mm/2.8, the Nikkor is sharper wide open, so for low light condition I will prefer the Nikkor, but for daylight Zeiss 21/2,8 Biogon stopped down to f8 is much better and, of cause, because it is a rangefinder, there is much less distortion. I use it often with Kaesemann polariser 46mm filter to get a blue sky and even more saturated colors. The perfect wide angle lens for daylight when you don't need superwide angle shots.

Superb. One of the finest lenses ever made, for any format, by anyone. Far exceeds Nikkor. Such a pity Kyocera made it without basics such as focus ring, specifically for the G2 body. I hope for the day someone somewhere makes either a new body for this lens, or a new digital back for the old G2.
