Its newly designed five lens group construction with three movable lens groups improves telephoto picture quality and results in a high-magnification zoom ratio that includes the standard range. The micro USM (Ultrasonic Motor) drive AF is fast and silent. A wide zoom ring ensures smooth zoom operation for excellent operability. When attached to an IX 240 SLR camera, the zoom range is equivalent to a 35mm camera focal length of 69-250mm.
