A very useful lens in my macro work, and optically perfect. Autofocusing is suprisingly fast for a macro lens(though i never use it in close-ups), and image quality is equally excellent both in macro and beyond ranges. An L-lens in every way!

A superb lens for. As an amateur, I do a great amount of insect and flower photography. This lens really performs for those functions. Autofocusing is excellent for my "general" shots, although I utilize the manual process for my macro work. Image quality is excellent. Color reproduction is first rate. A first class "L" series lens.
